Mylo Xyloto Rules The World With Huge First-Week Sales

Congratulations to Coldplay and all of the fan base!

The newest album has just come out and hardly kicking stores. ‘Mylo Xyloto’ debuts with huge sales around 1.1 million copies sold worldwide; the second highest of all artist this year. The album also break the iTunes record for being the highest selling album ever of all artist after becoming number one in at least twenty-one countries.

‘Mylo Xyloto’ was released worldwide on October 24, 2011 via EMI and Capitol, and has since (the first week) been certified gold in at least four countries and straight to platinum in Denmark.

Days before release, Chris Martin doubt that he and bandmates couldn’t knock Noel Gallagher (former Oasis) off atop the UK Album Chart because they never do that. The fact was surprised him, when Mylo straight to number one even becoming the second highest debut sales of the week after Lady Gaga. They also the third in history that had five album at number one, and the second that have first five number one album followong Oasis.

Coldplay has two album with debut sales of 700k in the US. As it was predicted by many media before, their fifth album Mylo Xyloto debuts at number one on Billboard 200, giving the third concutive album at number one, with 447.000 copies sold according to Nielsen Soundscan. It was the third largest debut this year after Lady Gaga with 1.1 million and Lil Wayne with 900k. The album was the only rock album in recent years to follow the success of U2 in 2009 in selling albums.
