The band will release a whooping number of albums next year. Currently under working-title Seasons, the band will release one album for each season, which means one in every three months.

The band reportedly has shot a video for the first single in Austria and ready to release an album early next year. It will be the first album since their successful self-titled comeback album in 2019, their first in about a decade.

8. Muse. Warner Bros./ Helium-3. New album projected to be released: Q3 of 2022.

There are news circulating about the band going to release new album, and it is very likely to drop later next year. Just a flashback, the band’s latest release Simulation Theory in 2018 produced so many great songs and satisfying 80’s elements in their music videos.

7. Avril Lavigne. DTA/ Elektra. New album projected to be released: Q2 of 2022.

After signing an new record deal with Travis Barker’s DTA Records, Avril will be back with full studio album next year, and based on the first taste of it ‘Bite Me’, fans are so happy the singer is revisiting her old style ‘punk girl’.

6. Queens of the Stone Age. Matador. New album projected to be released: Q3 of 2022.

The new album that heavily rumored to come in fall this year is nowhere to be seen, so a new projection is placed on the same period next year.

5. Paramore. Fueled by Ramen. New album projected to be released: Q2 of 2022.

After done with experimentation with solo records (which actually works), Hayley Williams are stated so ready to bring back Paramore, which will happen next year.

4. Slipknot. Roadrunner. New album projected to be released: Q2 of 2022.

After the success of their latest ‘We Are Not Your Kind’ in 2019 that features some of their heaviest songs to date (the album topped the charts both in US and UK), the gang is charged to release a new album soon enough. Based on the first taste ‘The Chapeltown Rag’, and if they are using a similar pattern to tease fans – anthemic ‘All Out Life’ released in the same time frame as with ‘The Chapeltown Rag’ released – then another banger album is on the way for sure! So the plan is to mix the new album in January and to release it two to three months later. We’ll see!

3. Avenged Sevenfold. Capitol. New album projected to be released: Q3 of 2022.

After a surprise-release of the 2016 record ‘The Stage’ to a critical acclaim (hehe..), this time the band are working on a new album, which should be out by late next year.

2. Ghost. Loma Vista. New album projected to be released: Q1 of 2022.

With the band successfully maintaining their fresh and unique sound and appearance over time, fans are so pumped for their new album which expected to drop by early next year, and will feature the newly appointed Papa Emeritus IV.

1. Red Hot Chili Peppers. Warner Bros. New album projected to be released: Q3 of 2022.

With John Frusciante back to the game and recording new album together (sorry to see Josh out), the Chili wins our attention for the most anticipated record next year. May they successfully deliver this time and brings us fly again!

Bands/ Artists with Most Anticipated Albums of 2020.

Here are my personal picks for the most anticipated studio album release next year, based on artist’s popularity, latest releases rating, current events regarding the artist, and high new album demands, also influenced by others’ list too, hehe….

15) Trivium (Q4 2020): They promised a lot of news regarding the band next year, maybe including a new album.

14) Mastodon (Q2 2020): The metal quartet successfully produced strong records after all these years, and the next record will be hopefully no exception.

13) Steven Wilson (Q3 2020): There’s a fair chance that a new album will drop later next year around the same time as The Future Bites Tour in September.

12) The Killers (Q2 2020): Following the success of their latest album, the band was on fire for the next record titled ‘Imploding the Mirage’, alongside several dates of their UK Stadium Tour in spring.

11) Green Day (Q1 2020): The trio punk rockers showing no sign to stop as their next album ‘Father of All….’ will be released in February. Based on the first two singles, the record would be a full shocker.

10) Ozzy Osbourne (Q1 2020): The prince of darkness regained power after featured with Post Malone on ‘Take What You Want’, which went on to become a hit single, and setting chart record for Ozzy too. A full solo record will be released early next year, currently titled ‘Ordinary Man’ and will feature GnR bassist and RHCP drummer.

9) Pearl Jam (Q3 2020): There’s a high demand for a PJ album, well after the current state of rock world without Chris Cornell and Layne Staley.

8) The Offspring (Q1 2020): Their guitarist Noodles confirmed that the new album could be released early next year. That sounds about right, counting that they already have songs recorded, a rough track list, maybe just need some finishing works.

7) AC/DC (Q2 2020): After counts of events and possible breakups, it was confirmed that Brian Johnson is back and returning to studio which means a new album is coming.

6) Guns N’ Roses (Q4 2020): What would happen if Slash rejoining Axl and making new music? Well, Slash is in the band right now after touring, so hopefully a new album will follows.

5) Avenged Sevenfold (Q3 2020): Their latest album dropped in no time, and was absolutely great. Time after time they are showing a better grow musically. Let’s see if a new album is coming our way.

4) My Chemical Romance (Q4 2020): They just made a comeback show after some years . Let’s see what will happens next year, hopefully… yeah a new album!

3) System of a Down (Q3 2020): Now that Tool is no more hinting, teasing, and torturing fans like crazy, all eyes are on Serj and the gang. It’s been 13 years in the wait already. So come on!

2) Deftones (Q2 2020): Even after counts of good if not great records in their catalog already, people keep wishing for a new one. Good news that they are seen working in studio which means a new album is coming.

1) Red Hot Chili Peppers (Q3 2020): The news that made the band topped our list came in the final days of the year. John Frusciante is back! So does it mean a new album too? Last time John was featured on the group album was in ‘Stadium Arcadium’ some thirteen years ago and left us all thirsty. We’ll see!

So, what are your list?

Year-End Note.

There are so many new records worth to listen to. One might say that we should keep on searching for new tunes, and possibly expand our taste in other genres too! Good music comes out from every genres.

But now, because we are focusing in rock music. We are very delightful to see Tool, Slipknot, Rammstein, Korn among others, are all releasing album this year, and most of those albums won’t disappoint you. What we need to see next is the rock world keep growing and still ‘nailed it’!

So, keep supporting rock music in all way possible. Buying albums, concert tickets, request on radio, and realistically we need to move on streaming services haha!!!

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year 2020.
