Another year with great list of musicians putting out music to their best. I’m almost certain that there’s still many good albums out there that I missed, but for the time being, I only need to compile my own list of favorite studio albums this year that grabbed my attention the most.

Most Anticipated Albums of 2021

Writer’s Pick for Most Anticipated Album Releases of 2021.

10) Evanescence (Expected: March 26, 2021): “The Bitter Truth” was preceded by three singles so far “Wasted on You”, “The Game Is Over”, and “Use My Voice”. The upcoming album would be their first in a decade since the self-titled album in 2011.

9) Foo Fighters (Expected: February 5, 2021): “Medicine at Midnight” signals new direction for the band if it based on its first single “Shame Shame” which was very different than their previous works.

8) Greta van Fleet (Expected: April 16, 2021): “The Battle at Garden’s Gate” preceded with anthemic tune “My Way, Soon” and another track titled “Age of Machine”.

7) Ghost (Q1 2021): The upcoming album marks the return of Papa Emeritus, introduced early this year as Papa Emeritus IV. They promised a new album in winter 2020/2021.

6) Steven Wilson (Expected: 29 January 2021): “The Future Bites” preceded with four tracks, which are about half of the album total, enough to represent the upcoming album’s sound.

5) Weezer (Expected: 7 May 2021): “Van Weezer” was delayed for a full year to May next year, but we can hear three tracks on it already “The End of the Game”, “Hero”, and “Beginning of the End”.

4) The Offspring (Q2 2021): While they had worked on a full album, but the first song we heard is a Christmas song cover instead. Anyway, it’s a good tune for this season.

3) Avenged Sevenfold (Q3 2021): Their last album is so great that we expect the next one not to be disappointing.

2) My Chemical Romance (Q3 2021): No further activity can be heard since last year, but we can still hoping for a new album next year.

1) Red Hot Chili Peppers (Q3 2021): The most awaited album (again) for next year is no doubt the Chili Peppers, which regained attention with the returning of John Frusciante to the lineup. We hope to see some new music next year!
